Shot through the heart, and your to blame, honey you give love a bad name. Couldn’t have said it better myself Mr. Jovi.  But today we will be shooting you with an Uber cute DIY arrow! As you can see I have been busy getting my craft on for valentine’s day!  I normally don’t decorate the house much for Valentines Day, but after seeing so many cute Valentines stuff on Pinterest, I decided to get crafty and make a few fun and simple decorations.

First up is this cute painted canvas with a fun ornamental arrow made with scrapbook paper.  I was inspired by these adorable ornamental arrows that I discovered on Pinterest and that is how it all started.

Supplies:

  • thin 8×10 canvas
  • craft paint
  • dowels
  • scrapbook paper
  • glue
  • clear enamel spray
  • twine

Supplies

I started off by tracing a heart on to the canvas with a wooden heart cutout.  Then used a ruler and traced out lines to make stripes.

Then I painted the stripes navy blue and white, and the heart a light pink.

The Ornamental arrows were super easy as well.  I just cut out the feathers and the arrows using scrapbook paper, then wrapped some twine at the top of the arrow by the feathers.  Then just glued them to the dowel.  I didn’t want the arrow going all the way through the heart, so I just cut the dowel where I wanted each one to end.

Before I glued the arrow on the canvas, I sprayed the canvas with a clear enamel spray to seal it.  That is it!  Turned out super cute and so simple to create!

That is really cute and I love that it’s not the usual red color that we see everywhere for Valentine’s Day.

Thank you, Erica! That was actually my plan, I was just going to make a bunch of those arrows but then went this direction instead! The arrows are so cute and easy to make!
