I just love this time of year!  The weather starts cooling down, the leaves start changing into beautiful bright colors, the air is crisp and everything feels cozy, and the Holidays are near.  I especially love this time of year and decorating my home for fall.  I have started putting out my fall decorations, and decided to make some new decorations this year, which I am excited to finally start sharing them with all of you!  Today I will be sharing my Fall Burlap Wreath, that is surprisingly so easy to make.  I can’t believe that I am going to say this but, I have never made a burlap wreath before.  Crazy huh?!?  I am glad that I finally did though, it turned out so cute and seriously only took me about 15 min.

Supplies:

  • burlap ribbon
  • scissors
  • wreath frame
  • wire
  • embellishments

Fall Burlap Wreath supplies

Start by folding your burlap ribbon into quarters and securely attach it with your wire to the first ring.

Fall Burlap Wreath step 1

Take the first bit of burlap and push it through the first wire frame, continue that for the second and the third part of the wire frame.

Fall Burlap Wreath step 2

Now comes the Twist!  Bunch up the three rings of burlap, turn over the wreath frame and twist the back part tightly.  Then push the burlap through the first ring again, continue for the second and third ring again.  Continue making your loops and twisting all the way until you get to the end.

Fall Burlap Wreath step 3

Once completed, cut off the remaining burlap, fold it and securely fasten it to the wire frame.  Then add any embellishments that you like, and you have a beautiful wreath in a matter of minutes!

Fall Burlap Wreath Final

Burlap wreaths are a simple yet elegant craft idea which are so easy to make.  So happy with how my first burlap wreath turned out!  Now looking forward to making a few more fall decorations and making my home complete for the fall season!  Have you started decorating for fall yet?

Thank you so much, Breanna! I was having second thoughts on the chevron when I was making it, but I am glad I decided to stick with it!

Thank you so much, Kristi! I know, I was so surprised how easy it was to make. I have always been so discouraged to make one because they look like they are way too complicated to make.

Me too, Jess. I was always discouraged though to make one, they look so difficult to make. I was so surprised at how simple it was!

I just happened to link up behind you on SITS and when I read your blog I couldn’t help but smile. I have the exact same door, I painted it black last year AND I just hung a wreath on it almost exactly like the one you have! Great minds think a like I suppose! 🙂 So I think it goes without saying…..I love it your wreath! 😉

I just love it! I hope you don’t mind but I think I just might give it a try 🙂 I just made a burlap wreath myself and I think I’m in love with burlap now. Saw your feature on VMG 206 DIY Showcase and had to stop by to let you know how beautiful your wreath looks!

    Have a great week!
